Winter Bridge
Description:
Winterovsky Bridge is a road and pedestrian bridge that connects the streets of Herzen and October. The first wooden bridge on this place was built in the middle of the XIX century. In 1846 it was rebuilt and was called Birch by the nearby birch forest. In 1934, the birch bridge was dismantled and replaced with another wooden bridge, which served 28 years. The bridge was designed by engineer Winter, after whom the bridge was named.
In 1962, it was also dismantled, and in its place was built a new, reinforced concrete, connecting the streets of Herzen and October. The name of the engineer Winter, fixed behind the bridge, was decided to leave.
