Description:
The Vologda Tower belongs to the New Town of the Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery. It was built in 1656. The new city is the latest construction in time in the monastery ensemble, the towers in it are four pieces, Vologda is one of them.
The Vologda Tower is sometimes considered a visiting card, a symbol of the monastery. Its shape is octagonal, so it looks elegant and more ceremonial than the usual strict and harsh square turrets. Therefore, they pay more attention and remember.
The height of the Vologda Tower is 30 meters, it was built almost the first in the New City. Construction lasted four months. The tower was built five-tiered, which also began to distinguish it from other towers.
