About the company:

The Vologda District Museum of Local Lore was opened in 1923 on the territory of the Vologda Kremlin in the premises of the former bishops’ court. The new museum combines four city museums: the Petrovsky House, the Diocesan Ancient Storage, the Art Gallery and the Museum of Rhodiology.

Going from hall to hall, visitors to the museum plunge into the history of the Vologda land. In the first hall you can get acquainted with the ancient wildlife of the age of dinosaurs, and further along the course of the exhibition, the gradual development of flora and fauna is shown, up to the present day.

A separate place is occupied by the historical theme, represented by a rich factual material, up to the ancient guns, which can be considered in detail up close.

One of the halls is equipped with a Russian wooden hut with original furniture and household items.

Almost all residents of Vologda have visited this museum, children first come here with their parents, and as adults, they come here with their new family.
