Babi Lake
Russia, Voronezh region, Anninsky district, Babinka village.
Description:
It is with birds that the version of the origin of the name Babi Lake is associated. A century and a half ago, located near the confluence of the rivers Tokai and Yelani freshwater reservoir was home to numerous representatives of the feathered world. On the lake lived not only handsome swans, but also exotic pelicans for Russia. The people used to call pelicans “baba bird”, and, according to local historians, it was this that gave the reason to call the lake Babi.
Today Babi Lake is primarily fishing. Its depth varies from one to five meters, and the predominant species of fish is a small top. You can stay in a tent town, the romance of which will surely attract a real “man’s company” that is undemanding in everyday life. Fans of fishing have the opportunity to do it both from the shore and from rowing boats.
