Description:

The monument to A.S. Pushkin in Voronezh is located in the park near the Opera and Ballet Theater. It was inaugurated in 1999, when the whole country celebrated the 200th anniversary of the luminary of Russian literature. A belt sculpture of Pushkin with a cloak cast over his shoulders is mounted on a low column surrounded by a snow-white rotunda. To the rotunda leads a semicircular staircase made of light marble, and on one side the composition is surrounded by a white fence with lanterns in the style of the Pushkin era.

Pushkin's torus is cast from metal dyed gold. The hands of the poet are bent at the elbows and turned towards the viewer, as if he addressed the admirers of his talent. In Pushkin's right hand is a scroll with poems, and the left froze in the gesture with which he accompanies his narrative. On the slab, which is part of the rotunda, engraved well-known to almost everyone in our country verses: "And for a long time I will be so kind to the people that I aroused good feelings with a lyre."
