Monument to S.A. Yesenin
Description:
The monument to Sergei Yesenin was erected in Voronezh in 2007. The place for the monument was chosen in the square on Kardashov Street, in his choice was actively participated by the famous Russian actor Sergey Bezrukov, who brilliantly played the great poet in the film of the same name. In addition to participating in the selection of a place for the monument, Bezrukov also donated a considerable amount for the manufacture and installation of the pedestal.
Work on the manufacture of the monument to Yesenin was carried out very quickly, and in less than a month. The bust was created by the famous Moscow sculptor Anatoly Bichukov, Vice-President of the Moscow Academy of Arts. He portrayed the poet at the moment of reflection - his head is slightly tilted, one hand lies in his coat pocket, and the other he holds a collar. It was as if he had stopped for a moment to reflect on a thought or rhyme that had visited him. The bronze bust rises on a granite pedestal. The total weight of the monument was 250 kilograms.
During the opening ceremony, the monument was consecrated by the rector of the Kazan church of the village of Konstantinovo, where the future literary genius was baptized for more than a hundred years.
