North Bridge

Voronezh, Voronezh region, Russia

Description:

The Northern Bridge is a tram-car bridge across the Voronezh reservoir in the city of Voronezh. It is a modern two-level structure, the length of which reaches 1800 meters. It was built in honor of the 400th anniversary of the city of Voronezh. The bridge connects the Central District near the Dynamo Park and the Railway District near Ostuzheva Street. On the right bank at the North Bridge there is a two-level road-rail interchange. The bridge was laid with the prospect of building rail transport - a high-speed tram or metro. In 2003, traffic on the so-called “Road to nowhere” was opened here, which significantly shortened the way from the Railway District to the Kominternovskaya.

In January 2008, the upper tier of the bridge was decommissioned due to the emergency tramways, and the famous route No. 7 was reduced to the final station "Station - Voronezh 1". A little later from the upper tier unknown stole part of the contact network. Then, in July 2008, the contact network removed the remains of the current-carrying wire from the upper tier of the North Bridge and all the adjoining passages. Soon the Voronezh metro will be launched on the bridge.
