Description:
Constantinople-Elenensky Orthodox convent is located in the village of Lenin, near the famous resort villages of Komarovo and Repino. In 1998, the first Orthodox community was established in the village of Leninskoe. The construction of the temple was planned to be carried out at the expense of Konstantin Veniaminovich Goloshchapov. In the summer of 1998, a church was founded in honor of Saints Helena and Constantine. The first service was held here in 1999, and since May 2000, services have been held continuously. In 2001, the temple was consecrated by His Holiness Patriarch Alexy.
For several years, the church of Helena and Constantine acted as a parish church. But on October 6, 2006, at a meeting of the Holy Synod, the petition of Metropolitan Vladimir of St. Petersburg for blessing for the opening of the Constantinople-Eleninsky convent was granted. The first sisters arrived here from the St. Petersburg Novodevichy Monastery. The rector of the monastery was appointed nun Hilarion (Feoktistova). Now on the territory of the monastery there are three churches: in the name of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, in the name of St. Helena and Constantine, as well as the Baptism Church in the name of the Nativity of Christ. The senior priest of Constantino-Eleninsk monastery is Father Theoctistus.
