Old Town of Vyborg

The medieval part of Vyborg (Old Town) lies on a small peninsula stretching from southeast to northwest between the Vyborg Bay and Salakka Lahti Bay (Big Bucket). Both bays are connected by the Fortress Strait, in the middle of which there is a small Castle Island, where the Vyborg Castle is located. Territorially, the Old Town, as well as almost all historical urban development east of the Fortress Bridge, belongs to the Central Microdistrict, the territory of which can also be described as a peninsula washed by the waters of the Closed Bay, Vyborg Bay, South and North Harbors, Protective Bay and Rainbow Bay.
