Excursion "Wonderful temples and shrines of Yaroslavl" in the city of Yaroslavl

Yaroslavl is a city famous for its unique temples and shrines.

I invite the guests of our city with me to plunge into the Golden 17th century of Yaroslavl, when merchants and ordinary people created stone masterpieces!

All their experience and love Yaroslavl invested in the construction of temples. During the tour you will learn the features of the Yaroslavl temples and see their rich decoration: ancient icons, tiles, fresco paintings. Hear about the importance of temples and shrines in the history of the city, myths and legends about the merchant-builders. Each temple is richly decorated with tiles.

You will see the first Yaroslavl tiles, and whole belts, and even a tiled casing height of 8 meters! And the result of our work was a stone as if fabulous carved wooden tower - the temple of John the Forerunner, which is depicted on the 1000-ruble bill. The fresco painting is especially interesting, which will tell us not only about biblical subjects, but also about the life and life of ordinary people, the appearance and history of the city, and even the country.

Our many temples can be boasted for a very long time, and most importantly you will not be bored!

The program of the walking tour includes a visit to the main sights and temples of the historical part of the city of the Nativity of Christ, Nikola Nadeyan, Ilya the Prophet, the current cathedral of the Assumption Cathedral, the Savior on the City, Archangel Michael, Nikola Rubleny, Sretensky temple, Kazan chapel, Kazan and Kirillo-Afanasievsky monasteries.

The tour program by transport is complemented by a visit to the current Fedorovsky Cathedral, John the Forerunner, John Chrysostom, Nikola Mokroy, Peter and Paul Church (Petrine style with a spire on the territory of the former textile factory).

In summer, at the request of guests, you can go and see the temples-museums for a small entrance fee. In winter, 6 temple-museums are closed! It is expected to enter a number of temples with preserved paintings of the early 18th century.
