Orthodox Yaroslavl

Our excursion will touch on Yaroslavl from the spiritual side of the history of this ancient Russian city on the Volga, the Cathedral of Saints of the Yaroslavl-Rostov Metropolis which has more than 30 saints with the status of All-Russian. Yaroslavl is an ancient center of Russian Orthodoxy, it has dozens of churches, and the age of the diocese is more than 1000 years. The local diocese is the oldest in modern Russia. You will see the temple architecture of the 16th-19th centuries, because of which the architects refer to the city as “Upper Volga Florence”. Architectural pearls are scattered in the necklace of the Volga and Kotoslnaya embankment of the city. We will visit historical monasteries and temples that are active in the Russian Orthodox Church and museum historical churches, where the special spiritual power of ancient prayer places is still felt.
