Governor's Garden in the city of Yaroslavl

d. Yaroslavl, Volga embankment, 23

Description:

The Governor’s Garden is a beautiful garden of the Governor’s Estate in Yaroslavl.

The Governor’s Garden appeared in the XIX century simultaneously with the Governor’s House. The original layout of the garden, combining elements of regular and landscape park building, has generally survived to this day. In 1950-1980 years of the last century there was a children's city park.

In 1989, the Governor’s Garden became part of the Yaroslavl Art Museum, after which, from 1989 to 1994, large-scale reconstruction works were carried out in the garden. In 1996, a seasonal exposition “Sculpture in the plein air” was opened in the Governor’s Garden. In the warm season, from May to October, various performances, concerts, youth festivals, presentations and other events are held in the garden.
