A beautiful tradition is a summer trip to the Golden Ring of Russia.

Beautiful tradition - a summer trip to the Golden Ring of Russia

In Russia, there are many wonderful traditions: everyday and festive - many go back centuries. New ones are also born: for example, the tradition of watching the film "Irony of Fate or with a light steam" for the New Year or spending weekends in the country. Let’s try to create another tradition: a summer trip to the cities of the Golden Ring of Russia. O. Mityaev’s song says that “Summer is a small life”, and of course, it is worth filling it with new events and unusual impressions!

As you know, the ring has neither beginning nor end, and our - "Golden" - is - the journey begins in Moscow and ends also in the First Throne. The Golden Ring is a tourist route created in the 20th century, in the postwar period, when a great interest in the origins of Russian culture arose again. Traveling along the Golden Ring is especially pleasant in summer: sunny weather, many flowers, beautiful landscapes, fragrant fields.

Sergius Posad

Sergiev Posad is a very cozy city: small rivers and lakes, openwork bridges, elegant palaces in the Russian style, crooked streets give it a special charm. It is here that the majestic Trinity-Sergius Lavra is located with a dizzying bell tower, beautiful domes of the Assumption Cathedral, the gilded iconostasis of the Church of Sergius of Radonezh. Quiet sadness and unusual warmth warmed the icon of Andrei Rublev. One can imagine how many centuries ago Sergius of Radonezh came to these places in search of solitude. He built a small cell and founded the Trinity Church. From a small church arose a monastery, and there is nothing like it in our vast Russia.

In addition, Sergiev Posad, according to one version, is the birthplace of nesting dolls. Matryoshka is a wonderful toy, a symbol of motherhood and infinity of life, a symbol of a large and friendly family. Interestingly, the famous Russian nesting doll is just over 100 years old. Another well-known toy is the Virgin Mary. These are bunnies that play balalaikas, bears that make something. “The people who created this toy are a great people!” said French sculptor Auguste Rodin with admiration.

Toys in Sergiev Posad dedicated to the whole museum, which has even dolls daughters of the last Emperor of the Romanov dynasty – Nicholas II: Olga, Tatiana, Maria and Anastasia.

Pereslavl-Zalessky

The birthplace of the great commander Alexander Nevsky, the land of ancient monasteries, the place of creation of a fun flotilla, the Berendean kingdom, far and far.

Pereslavl - Zalessky flaunts on the shore of the azure Pleshcheev Lake, where the famous ragweed is found, also called the royal herring. The unusually beautiful lake remembers how Peter the Great created here the first ships in Russia, of which only one is preserved - the Fortuna bot. You will be told about the creation of the Russian fleet in the Botik Peter Museum.

There are other, very unusual museums in Pereslavl: a museum of money, irons, kettles. You can relax with your soul in the monasteries of Pereslavl: Fedorovsky, Nikolsky, Goritsky, Nikitsky. On Red Square you can admire the ancient Transfiguration Cathedral, and then walk along the ancient earthen ramparts, feel the spirit of antiquity. There is in Pereslavl and a monument of pagan times - the mysterious Blue Stone. They tried to hide him in the ground, he drowned in the lake, but every time he appeared on the surface of the earth, mysteriously returned to shore. It is said that in pagan times here, in the coniferous shady forests, lived the tribes of the Berendeans, led by King Berendei. In Pereslavl there is a painted terrace of this legendary character.

The main decoration of Pereslavl became baroque temples: light, elegant, with thin drums of heads, with ornate ornaments of windows. They give Pereslavl extraordinary sophistication.

The great city of Rostov.

Rostov the Great... If we had started a trip from Moscow to this city many centuries ago, we would have come from a small town to such a city. But times are changing, and today everything is not as it was before. Today, Rostov is a small provincial town, but its greatness can be felt even today, once you step over the threshold of the old Rostov Kremlin.

It is a fabulous city with round and square towers, harmonious temples, powerful walls, beautiful chambers. The residence of the Rostov Metropolitan Iona Sysoyevich, the place of residence of kings and emperors, the likeness of a paradise city, where you can hear the wonderful ringing of ancient bells. The bells of Rostov are authentic, they survived the times of Peter 1, when many bells were poured into cannons, and the terrible years of the struggle of God, when many other bells were thrown from the bell towers. "Swan", "Baran", "Goat", "Holodar" - such unusual names are called Rostov bells. The ensemble is adorned on the shore of Lake Nero. It is rich in fish, and perhaps, on the shores of a mysterious lake, a fairy tale about the dreamy Emela and a magical pike fulfilling wishes was born. Originally from Rostov and epic hero Alyosha Popovich.

Rostov land is a holy place, on its guard there are ancient powerful fortress-monasteries: Borisoglebsky and Varnitsky. The first is in honor of the Russian princes-martyrs Boris and Gleb, the second is the Motherland of Sergius of Radonezh, hegumen of the Russian Land.

Even the symbol of the city - the deer - is non-pagan, and the Christian, depicts the soul striving for the divine.

Beautiful Yaroslavl.

Yaroslavl flaunts on the banks of two rivers - the Volga and Kotorosli. The city was founded by Yaroslav the Wise to protect the ancient capital - Rostov the Great. According to legend, Yaroslav the Wise slaughtered a bear with a sequira and ordered the city to be founded on the banks of the Volga. The unhurried course of the Volga gives Yaroslavl a unique charm. Along the embankments stretch openwork grilles, linden blossom and delight with a honey aroma, whiten romantic gazebos against the background of lush foliage. Yaroslavl is famous for its ancient temples, which were built in the 17th century by quick merchants. Church of Elijah the Prophet and the Nativity of Christ, Church of John Chrysostom and Nikola Nadein. The Yaroslavl churches have special decorations: bright, radiant, multicolored tiles.

In Yaroslavl, you can walk for a long time along the wide streets and shady parks, admiring ancient towers and merchant mansions painted in different colors: marshmallow pink, sand, pistachio, peach. The city is drowned in flowers: flower beds with intricate, geometric patterns, floral compositions near the Alexander Nevsky Chapel, suspended arches with flowers. The ancient Russian city, sacredly preserving ancient traditions, at the same time has its own unique character, which is fascinated not only by tourists, but, apparently, by the city residents themselves.

Kostroma.

Kostroma is beautiful, gentle and modest. Like the snow maiden who lives in these parts. The playwright Ostrovsky wrote the play of the same name in the vicinity of Kostroma - in the Shchelykovo estate. In the city itself there is a tower of our favorite, the famous snow beauty. But not only Ostrovsky worked in Kostroma, but also Alexei Savrasov, Boris Kustodiev, Eldar Ryazanov, Nikita Mikhalkov. Black Eyes and Cruel Romance were filmed there. Fedor Volkov and Fedor Chizhov were born in Kostroma, the Tretyakov brothers, collectors of the famous collection of paintings, worked. Currently, Kostroma and the Kostroma region are the land of jewelers, where real masterpieces are created: the value is not gold and silver, from which they are created, but the skill of local talents. Kostroma can rightly be called the jewelry capital of Russia.

On the emblem of the city is the galley of Empress Catherine the Great. It was the Empress who offered the city such a luxurious plan - the streets fan away from the main square. The ensemble of Susaninskaya Square is magnificent: buildings in the style of classicism of sand color with snow-white columns. Nearby - shopping rows: red, flour, tar, small, gingerbread - a whole medieval town with mazes of streets. A little closer to the Volga there is a monument to the national hero Ivan Susanin, about the feat of which every schoolboy knows: it was he who, at the cost of his life, saved the future Tsar Mikhail Romanov, showing the Poles the wrong way.

A little to the side is the place of the former Kremlin, which offers a magnificent view of the Volga.

You can endlessly walk along the multi-tiered embankment of the Volga in Kostroma, enjoying extraordinary landscapes and the endless blue Volga. From the embankment you can see the Holy Trinity Ipatiev Monastery, known as the cradle of the House of Romanov. It was here that the Zemsky Cathedral came from Moscow, and it was here that the young Mikhail Romanov was invited to the Kingdom.

Behind the Monastery - the museum of wooden architecture "Kostromskaya Sloboda" - will help to acquaint the young generation with the life of our ancestors.

If in Kostroma you caught summer rain, feel free to go to cafes, tea shops, restaurants of the city. The waiters are polite and caring, dishes, drinks and treats are prepared with the soul, and the prices will pleasantly surprise you.

suzdal

Suzdal is a poetry city, a dream city. To get into the 17th century, you do not need to invent a time machine, just visit ancient Suzdal. Beautiful monasteries, wooden houses, quiet river Kamenka. On the streets often pass decorated carriages with slender horses. The population of the town is about 10,000 inhabitants, and there are many attractions: about 30 churches, the Suzdal Kremlin, monasteries, shopping arcades, a monument to Dmitry Pozharsky and many others.

Clean, transparent air, slowness and blissful silence cause genuine admiration for all guests of the ancient city. “And I was there: honey, beer drank” – it is quite possible to say about Suzdal, where everywhere you can buy light, favorite wine in Russia – solar Meadowha.

Vladimir

Vladimir is a city of a different nature, a real rich city. Its temples are high and magnificent, with golden helmet-shaped domes and stone carvings, with beautiful frescoes. The creator of the wall paintings of the Assumption Cathedral was the famous icon painter Andrei Rublev. Stunning views open from a high hill, near the Assumption Cathedral. Solemn Golden Gate, created under Andrei Bogolyubsky. With the help of the diorama, you can see how the city was burned down by the army of Batu Khan in 1238. These are unforgettable experiences!

Not far from Vladimir - in the village of Bogolyubovo there is a symbol of Russia - the lyrical Church of the Intercession on the Nerli, and around - quiet mirror waters, beautiful forests.

From city to city leads the road, along which there are towns and villages, endless fields with gentle and modest flowers: these are chamomiles, bells, Ivan-tea. They bring up thoughts about the infinity of being.

And flowers and bumblebees and grass and ears,
And azure, and noon heat ...
The LORD, the son of the prodigal, will ask:
“Have you been happy in your life?”

And I'll forget everything, I'll just remember these.
Field paths between ears and grasses
And from sweet tears I can't answer,
I fell to my merciful knees.

Ivan Bunin

My story about the cities of the Golden Ring of Russia is coming to an end, and your journey may be just beginning. Acquaintance with the constellation of ancient cities, with the origins of our history, magnificent landscapes will give you vivid impressions and unforgettable joy from meeting with the beautiful, and therefore summer this year will not be in vain! And, perhaps, a new tradition will appear in our country - every summer to visit the cities of the Golden Ring of Russia.
