The fate of the Ipatiev Monastery is inextricably linked with the fate of Russia: in 1613 Mikhail Romanov, the founder of the future 300-year dynasty of Russian sovereigns, was elected to the kingdom here. At the Monastery you are given time for self-examination or free time.
Next you will visit the Kostroma Sloboda - it is not just a collection of wooden buildings
This is a living, breathing testimony to the skill of Russian builders. The air here is thick with the smell of pine and a whisper of history. Look at the houses, feel the rough logs under your hand, imagine the people who lived within these walls. The houses here are quite diverse in size, performance and furnishings: there are spacious and rich, and there are small ones. In houses, as usual, kitchen utensils, shops, chests, icons and other household items. Nearby is a chapel and a church, wells, woodcutters and outbuildings. You will walk along the pavements, born together with the crystal factory, and meet a monument to Akim Maltsov - a man whose vision lit the fire of skill, warming the city to this day. Here the walls whisper legends, and the stones store echoes of past days: to hear them, just slow down and listen to the breath of Gus-Crystal. Then you will find the salons “Gusevsky crystal” and “Glass and hands” – real treasuries, where the creations of local masters bloom on the shelves. Each item here is not just a product, but a piece of the artisan’s soul, and you can choose your talisman as a souvenir. And then there is the miracle hunt: you will find the “Glass Bouquet”, but this is only the first of three magical flowers, which speaks of an ancient legend. It is said that only those who find all three crystal wonders can make a truly secret wish, and it will surely come true.
In the Maltsov Crystal Museum, you will find the gateway to the magical realm of glass, where each exhibit is like a frozen fairy tale woven from fire and skill. A treasury of two thousand works will open before you: from exquisite products of the XVIII century to modern miracles born by the hands of Gusev masters. At the heart of the exhibition shines the legendary “Glass Bouquet” – the second of three magical flowers that we will find on our wonderful journey. His glass flowers seemed alive.
On the petals appeared droplets of dew, and their radiance calmed the soul. Each creation in the museum keeps the heat of the horn and the inspiration of the masters: you will feel how the living thread of generations passes through the fragile faces of crystal. You will find yourself in the very epicenter of the fiery mystery: you will see how the flame softens the glass, making it obedient, how graceful curves and finer details are born under the skillful fingers of the master. Each stage – from the first heating to the final stroke – is like a page from the annals of the age-old craftsmanship of Gusev glassblowers, whose ancestors created the same magical bouquet.
