Memorial Mese of I. S. Klyuchnikov-Palantai

The house-museum of the composer I.S. Klyuchnikov-Palantai (1886-1926) was organized by the Order of the Ministry of Culture of the RSFSR on March 16, 1960 as a branch of the Mari Republican Museum of Local History. The grand opening of the museum took place on June 10, 1961, in the year of the 75th anniversary of the composer’s birth.

In total, there are about 111 exhibits in the exhibition. In the House-Museum there are three rooms - living room, study, children's room. They carefully store personal belongings, manuscripts, household items, furniture, musical instruments of the composer.

History knows many personalities who have had a great influence on the development of the musical culture of their country. But few of them were able to become the first - those who, thanks to their talent, were able to lay the foundation for the musical future of their people. Such an exceptional role in the history of Mari professional art rightfully belongs to I.S. Klyuchnikov-Palantai.
