Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk

Cape Eustathia and the Blue Lakes

Description:

On the east coast of Sakhalin Island, almost at its very tip, there is one of the amazing beauty and impressive place – Cape of St. Eustathius.

Its height is only 51 m, but it offers a stunning panorama. An extraordinary sense of flying. View from the upper part of the cape to the south, to Cape Pavlovich. Behind it is the extreme southeastern point of Sakhalin - Cape Aniva. The cape, which offers a fascinating view of all sides of the world, is surrounded by crystal clear water, stone landscape and incredibly delicious, fresh smell of the sea.

The route to the Cape passes by LNG, Russia’s first large liquefied natural gas plant, where huge gas carriers are waiting in line for loading.

On the way you can stop and admire the wind power plants in the village of Novikovo.
