Island of Ancifero

Sakhalin region, Russia

Description:

Antsiferov Island is an uninhabited conical island shaped by a lone standing volcano 751 meters high. It is part of the Kuril Islands. Named in honor of the discoverer of the Kuril Islands Danila Antsiferov. The island can be reached only from the northern part, having carried out an anchorage for photo shoots and exploring the terrain.

The island is 53.6 kilometers from Makanrushi Island. The entire island has an area of 4.4 square kilometers, its total length is 4.2 kilometers and a width of about 3.2 kilometers. The coast of the island is mostly precipitous, except for the eastern shore, where the rocky ledges are folded in the form of a bucket, and also on the northern slope, where there is a strip of pebbles.

Trees on the island of Antsiferova practically do not grow. Very rarely there are alder and cedar. Around the island of Antsiferov there are large thickets of sea cabbage. Near the cliffs on the southern and western coasts there are stewwigs, and in the north of the island many birds nest.
