Local Lore Museum of MU "Culture Management of the Executive Committee of Zainsky Municipal District of RT"

The museum has 8 exhibition halls, where the remains of mammoths are presented, collections of decorative and applied arts, numismatics, household utensils, rare documents, photographs, memorial items of famous Zains, a collection of paintings by Zainska artists. The section of the exposition - "Zakamsk guard line (line)" presents the history of Zainsk from the middle of the XVII century. Among the exhibits: a model of the fortress of Zainsk, the largest of the six fortresses of this line, a photocopy of the "Ordinary Memory" of the voivode I. L. Turgenev, sent to Zainsk for service in 1675 by Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich (the original is stored in the Lobachevsky scientific library of Kazan State University), the list of residents of the Zainsk fortress according to the first census of the Zainsk garrison, which is included in the Novosheshminsky Landitsky dacha (17-74), the captain's of Sakopina in 17 days. In the section reflecting the history of the region after 1917, interesting materials about the peasant uprising in Zainsk, which went down in history under the name “fork” (February 1920).
