Oh. Zhukovsky

G. Zhukovsky was founded on April 23, 1947. The population of Zhukovsky is 97 160 people. Zhukovsky is located 20 km from the Moscow Ring Road in a southeastern direction. In 2007, Zhukovsky celebrated his 60th anniversary. However, the territory on which today's Zhukovsky is located has a long history of villages Novozhdestveno, Kolonets, Musin-Pushkin estates and others. An attempt to build a city on this territory was first undertaken in the early twentieth century. According to the plan of the manager of the Moscow-Kazan railway Nikolai von Mecca south of Moscow, in the area of the Prozorovskaya platform (now Kratovo), the largest railway junction and the new Kazan railway station-2 were located. In a short time, under the leadership of the chief architect V.N. Semenov, a project of the first garden city in Russia for road workers and employees was created, organically inscribed in the natural landscape. In 1913, the project was adopted for implementation. Construction was prevented by war and then revolution. The main ideas laid down in the creation of the project were picked up and implemented in the United States and a number of European countries. On the eve of the Great Patriotic War, the first four-storey houses appeared in the village along the streets of Pushkin and Chkalov, a new school opened. And in 1940, the chief pilot of TsAGI Hero of the Soviet Union Mikhail Gromov presented the project of the Flight Research Institute - by that time there was already a need to combine theoretical developments and flight tests. Thus were laid the city-forming enterprises of the present Zhukovsky, so began the history of the center of Russian aviation science and technology. On April 23, 1947, by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR, the village received the status of a city and the name Zhukovskiy - in honor of the great Russian scientist, founder of modern aerodynamics Nikolai Egorovich Zhukovsky. In the city is actively working "club of heroes" This organization, uniting pilots and navigators-testers, residents of the city, awarded high ranks and awards, and just patriots, appeared in the city for a reason: the number of Heroes of the Soviet Union and Russia living and working in the city, Zhukovsky has no equal. At different times, 104 Heroes of the Soviet Union, the Russian Federation and Socialist Labor lived and worked in Zhukovsky. Not a single city street is named after them. Today Zhukovsky is proud of 73 Heroes who work and live in Zhukovsky. In November 2002, the Head of the City issued a decree on the establishment of the Day of Honoring Heroes Living in Zhukovsky on November 14. Since then, this unique holiday, existing only in our city, is celebrated annually. The quality of education in Zhukovsky schools is one of the best in Russia. This is confirmed by regular victories and prizes of our students at regional, All-Russian and international subject Olympiads. For a number of years, a program for the overhaul of educational institutions of the city has been operating in Zhukovsky. Within the framework of this program, major repairs of urban schools and kindergartens, replacement of equipment, comprehensive landscaping are carried out. The amount of funds invested in repairs and equipment since 2002 amounted to about 200 million rubles. Important importance in the city is attached to the implementation of the national project “Education”, and the first results of its work have already appeared; classroom and school equipment is being modernized, and the best teachers receive deserved support from the state and the Government of the Moscow Region. In the system of educational work, an important place is occupied by additional education of children, 85% of whom are engaged in additional education institutions, circles, sections, electives. The city has a Center for Children's Creativity, the Center for Aesthetic Education; military-patriotic and civilian direction is carried out in institutions of additional education, such as the Training Center for Extra-military Training «KASKAD», the military sports club «BERKUT», the military-patriotic club «VITYAZ», the city public organization «Wing&quo;, a group of volunteers at school No2, the Center «Berkut&quo;, the Moscow region, the military-rescue;rescraquo; military-rescue &quo;complaquo;company&quo;company&quo;company&quo;Inter&quo;complaquo;complaquo;Inter&quo;Inter&quo;complaquo;company&quo;company&quo;complaquo One would think that in Zhukovsky there are heroes only among pilots. But this is not so and primarily because it is here that the FSU is based "Central Airmobile Rescue Squad" EMERCOM of Russia. Modern special equipment and equipment, which are equipped with the detachment, allow you to effectively conduct search and rescue and emergency work in case of earthquakes, floods, man-made disasters. The squad ensures around-the-clock readiness of rescuers, vehicles, equipment and equipment for quick and effective actions aimed at saving human lives in any geographical point of the Earth. From the runways of Zhukovsky to anywhere in the country and the planet at any moment ready to fly rescuers. There are numerous flights to disaster zones. Africa, Europe, the Caucasus, the Middle and Far East, Indonesia, Polynesia; here is a brief geography of Zhukovsky rescuers. For the rescue of children during the tragedy in Beslan on September 1, 2004, Zhukov residents Dmitry Kormilin and Valery Zamaraev paid with their lives. In honor of their feat, one of the streets of Zhukovsky was renamed: the CentroSPAS complex now stands on Rescuers Street. By decree of the President of the Russian Federation Valery Zamaraev was awarded the title "Hero of Russia" (posthumously).
