What to see in București

Bucharest is a lively and multi-layered city with a rich history and a vibrant atmosphere. Sometimes called “Little Paris”, the city combines traces of Ottoman and European influence, architecture of the XIX-XX centuries and modern dynamics. Walks along the boulevards and narrow streets reveal its character: there are solemn squares, cozy courtyards and lively embankments that make the city memorable and hospitable.

Manufactures and facilities

Man-made sights of Bucharest amaze with diversity: active temples and cathedrals, monuments and large sports arenas. Among the iconic sites are the Church of St. Nicholas, a tranquil Orthodox church with historical significance, and the Cathedral of St. Joseph as a vivid example of the Roman Catholic architecture of the capital. The national stadium attracts sports enthusiasts, and the central boulevards and squares tell the story of the city’s status as a cultural center. During the winter season, Christmas markets come to life, and the surrounding area is home to medieval castles, including the famous Corvinov and the fortresses in Alba Julia, which complement the museum and architectural palette of the region.

Natural attractions and places

Natural corners around and within the city make it possible to relax in the fresh air: the Dymbovica River flows through the city, forming embankments and walking areas, and city parks invite you to leisurely hikes and picnics. More dramatic natural attractions are expected in the surrounding area – the hills and valleys of Transylvania, as well as the unique salt cave in Turda, where the combination of natural forms and the history of mineralogy makes the place especially attractive for nature lovers and photo enthusiasts.

Build routes and visit interesting places

On our website, all these points can be viewed on an interactive map: temples, stadiums, castles and natural objects are marked with short descriptions and practical information. With the help of the map, it is easy to lay the optimal route to the sights, choose a sequence for a day walk or a multi-hour excursion and estimate the time to travel between objects.

You can explore Bucharest on your own, walking through the central streets and promenades, or use the services of local guides to learn more about the history and hidden details of the city. Local excursions will allow you to look inside temples and museums, visit historical castles and caves in the vicinity and hear live stories about culture and life - all this makes acquaintance with the city interesting and rich.

Come to Bucharest and discover its attractions, from quiet churches and wide boulevards to powerful stadiums and ancient castles in the vicinity. Plan your itineraries in advance, use the map and guides for excursions – and let each walk show you new facets of this amazing city.
