Gardosh Tower
Description:
The second name of the Gardosh Tower, which is located on the hill above Zemun, is the Millennium Tower. It was built in 1897 for the millennium of Hungary, which was celebrated on a stunning scale. It was during these times that 4 towers were erected in the most distant points that belong to the Hungarian lands. Zemun, which was part of Austria-Hungary, was the southernmost point.
The official observation deck is free and available to anyone who wishes to view the city from the heights of Gardoš. From there, you can admire the magnificent views of Zemun, as well as Belgrade (mostly new areas of the city). You can climb to the tower through the streets that rise up from the Danube or along the stairs near Stara Visoka Street.
