Ethnographic Museum of Belgrade

Belgrade, Student Square, 13, Serbia

About the company:

The opening of the museum took place in 1901, but the history of the museum leads us to 30 years ago, when after the Slavic exhibition in Moscow, the Scientific Society of Serbia was so imbued with the idea of expositions that raise the patriotic spirit of its people that it decided to create its own ethnographic museum. Most of the exhibits migrated here from the People's Museum of Serbia, and subsequently regularly replenished due to the activity of the Scientific Society and the generosity of patrons.

The exhibition itself occupies three floors. On the first one you can see a rather impressive collection of national costumes. The second floor is reserved for the products of folk craftsmen of the late XIX century - these are tablecloths, carpets and wicker products. On the third floor is even more interesting: here you can see models of old rooms with recreated interiors.

The museum operates daily, except Monday, from 10:00 to 17:00. Sunday is a short day until 14.00.
