Museum of Applied Arts
Museum of Applied Arts, Vuka Karadzic, 18, Stari Grad, Belgrade, Serbia
About the company:
This museum was opened in 1950, and during its work has collected a collection that includes ancient manuscripts, jewelry, engravings, objects carved from wood, horns, pearl, engravings and icons. The exhibits presented in the collection are relevant not only to Serbia, but also to other European countries. A fairly solid part of them was purchased from the Serbian artist Luba Ivanovic - he collected his collection for thirty years.
The collections of the museum display the history of the development of applied art over the past two and a half thousand years. The oldest exhibits belong to the IV century BC - this is a numismatic collection in which you can find coins from ancient Greece. Currently, the museum has a collection of more than 32,000 exhibits.
Entrance for students and children under 12 years of age is free. The museum operates daily, except Saturday and Sunday, from 11:00-19:00.
