Helmskin House Museum
638 Elliott St, Victoria, BC, Canada
About the company:
Dr. John Sebastian built this house after he married the daughter of Governor James Douglas in 1852. It was originally a three-bedroom log house. Gradually, with the increase of the family, the Helmskin house was completed and expanded.
John later became a statesman and helped negotiate the accession of British Columbia to Canada.
Currently, an old house in British Columbia stands on the same site and functions as a museum. The Helmskin House offers a fascinating glimpse into the life of a doctor who lived in this house more than a century ago. It has preserved the original medical kit of the XIX century. Among the many exhibits of that time, there are many more interesting things to see.
