Lake Gregory
Description:
The lake in the city center is one of the attractions of the town of Nuwara Eliya - an ideal place for a picnic.
On the lake you can ride a boat, on its shore - to make a horse ride. Or you can just sit on the shore in silence, enjoying peace, picturesque views and the soothing effects of water.
But there is another side of the lake that attracts attention. In 1896, a farm for breeding rainbow and brown trout was opened on its shore. The trout was brought from England, it settled safely. The lake has become famous throughout Sri Lanka.
