Nobel Day

Description:

Alfred Nobel
One of the key events in the social and intellectual life of Sweden is the Nobel Day (Nobeldagen) - the annual awarding of the Nobel Prize, which takes place on December 10 in the Stockholm Studhuset (city hall).

These awards enjoy international recognition as the most honorable civic distinction. The Nobel Prizes in Physics, Chemistry, Physiology or Medicine, Literature and Economics are awarded to the laureates by His Majesty the King of Sweden at a ceremony held on the anniversary of Alfred Nobel's death (in 1896 in San Remo). Each winner receives a gold medal with the image of Nobel and a diploma.

The amount of the cash premium varies annually and is approximately $ 1 million. The Nobel Prizes have great international prestige and offer significant economic support.
