Helsingborg

Tropical Beach

Parapeten 2, Helsingborg, Sweden

Description:

One of the popular attractions of the Swedish city of Helsingborg is a small sandy beach Tropical, adjacent to the North Harbour. It is very popular with guests and residents of the city due to its developed infrastructure, rich vegetation and crystal clear coastal waters.

Until 1999, the area remained undeveloped until local authorities decided to develop a project that could breathe new life into the city beach and attract tourists. In 2000, luxurious palm trees were planted along the entire length of Tropical beach, sidewalks were equipped, and benches were installed. Tropical Beach has sunbeds, a pier, showers, toilets, a playground, and a bar serving light snacks.

During a storm that occurred in 2007, the beach was badly damaged, most of the sand washed into the sea, causing the coastline to shrink by 20-30 meters. Half a million dollars were spent on the restoration of Tropical Beach. It is now one of the most popular in the city, attracting thousands of tourists every year.
