House-estate "Drinengenber farm"

Norra Vallgatan 66 211 22 Malmo, Sverige

Description:

Dringenbergska gå rden is the oldest building in Malmo, built in 1430. The estate consists of four buildings located on the streets of Frans Suellsgatan, 1-Norra Vallgatan, 66-Vä stergatan, 1 around a closed courtyard. Known for its oldest basements. In one of them, in the southern part of the complex, the foundations of the Romanesque church of the XIII century were found.

The brick building with neat yellow facades and beautiful walls facing the courtyard has been restored to its original condition. During the restoration of 1964-1965, a cellar of the late Middle Ages with transverse ribbed vaults and granite walls was opened. In one of the basements there is a museum of economy.

For many centuries, various owners lived here - merchants from Lübeck, mayor Jost Ledebourg. After the XVII century there was a correctional institution for fallen women. Currently, Dringenbergska gå rden houses the old Hansaklubben club, which supports Anglo-Saxon traditions, and the Richard Juhlin Champagne Bar, which offers exquisite champagne wines from a unique cellar.
