Abbas Hoos House Museum

Snapperupsgatan 10, 211 35 Malmo, Sverige

About the company:

On Snapperupsgatan, 10 is the smallest house-museum in Malmo, where time has stopped. The house is in its original form from the beginning of the XIX century, with a well-preserved attic, outbuilding, kitchen and a functioning wood-burning stove. The purpose of the museum is to show how Swedish families lived in small houses with a cozy atmosphere at the beginning of the XIX century.

In 1911 Olaf Olsson and his family moved to the house. Olaf Ebb’s daughter became a legend of the house-museum. After living here almost all her life, she opposed demolition in the 1960s, when the local government decided to build modern buildings on the site of old houses. As a result, new buildings have sprung up around Ebba’s little house and it remains intact.

In 1984, due to her old age, Ebba could not afford to live in this house and moved to a more modern apartment. She gave her home to the city as a museum. After her death, the museum bought all her furniture and returned it to its original place in Ebba Hus. In 1991, after restoration work, it was opened to visitors. You can see this cozy house on Wednesday and Saturday from 12:00-16:00.
