Hilly Railway Station
Description:
Hilli railway station is a new station located just south of the center of the Swedish city of Malmo. The station was opened in 2010 as part of the newly built City Tunnel along with Triangeln Station and the new underground section of Central Station.
Hilli Railway Station is the first station on the way from Copenhagen Airport and is often referred to as the “gateway to Sweden”. Like many of Sweden’s new railway stations, Hilly Station is notable for its innovative architectural designs. A large round roof with a diameter of 45 meters is spectacularly illuminated from below, and its outlines resemble a UFO. 52 round windows pass through the roof, providing lighting for the terminal during the day. The architectural design was developed by Christina Matos, a specialist from Malmo.
Hilly Railway Station has four railway tracks and two platforms. This station serves both suburban and international flights. Passengers are provided with cafes, ATMs, Wi-Fi area and paid parking.
