Stockholm Armoury Chamber
Description:
I invite you to visit the oldest museum in Stockholm – the Armoury!
This unique museum is more than 375 years old, its history traces back to King Gustav II Adolf and is replenished to this day. You will see the relic of the museum - Gustav Vasa helmet. We will understand the faces of the dynasties of the Swedish kings and you will see the costumes and dresses of almost all kings since the XVI century.
The museum consists of three levels. At the lowest level, in the basements of the Royal Palace, there are real royal carriages, rising to the middle level, I will show you the festive outfits of the royals, funerary attributes, the uniform of the famous Charles XII with a cape and bootforts, as well as a hat (on the right side of which the trail from the bullet that killed the great rival Peter I is visible). You will see the costume of Gustav III - one of the leading kings in Swedish history - remember the story from the famous "Bala Masquerade" Giuseppe Verdi, telling about the death of Catherine II's cousin Gustav III. At the very top level, the small participants of our tour will be able to try on the crown and sit on the throne, solve royal riddles, and also feel like a noble person, dressed in the royal robe.
All these transformations can be captured for free on your camera.
The museum is incredibly informative and fascinating. A visit to the museum can be supplemented by a visit to the Royal Palace, but separately it is of great interest.
Come, it'll be interesting!
