Stockholm

Stockholm: acquaintance with the city

Description:

I propose to get acquainted with the city, having figured out what lies behind the front facades and what life looks like in Stockholm today.

Let’s start with kings and royal traditions from the palace to the habits of ordinary city dwellers. We will watch the “joyful” and “sad” churches, walk through medieval streets and squares, look into the windows of vintage shops and workshops. I will talk about the city, about the island of Stadsholmen, go through the only island in Stockholm where no one lives.

Why is an island in the city center a ghost island? What building is the oldest ghost in the city? After a little research we will go to the place of the most solemn banquet in Sweden - the Nobel banquet. I'll tell you the interesting details of the ceremony, and we'll go to a city called City.

Along the way, I will reveal to you a few secrets of urban transport, which are hidden from the eyes of even very observant citizens and travelers. We will talk about the social welfare of the country, you will learn many interesting facts about the life of the Swedish population in terms of medical care, insurance, training and much more. Standing at the Concert Hall, where the Nobel Prize is awarded, we will go to see the Royal Garden, and then go to the most beautiful embankment of the city. I'm going to tell you about the richest neighborhood in Stockholm, Östermalm, and the middle class. You can complete our trip either with a delicious lunch or with a further independent walk through the royal hunting grounds, where today the famous Vasa and Unibaken museums (the world of Astrid Lindgren) are located.
