Visiting the King of Sweden

Description:

Remember that you are in the Kingdom of Sweden. I suggest you go on a tour of the main halls of the Royal Palace - an exciting journey into the past and the present. The palace, built in the Italian Baroque style, was completed in 1754. Russian prisoners of war of the Northern War built this palace together with other prisoners of war of the Northern War.

Why did the palace take so long to build? How did a commoner end up on the Swedish throne? Where did Gustav III, a relative of Catherine II, die?

Here you will find European and Swedish works of art from the Middle Ages to the present day. It is the most beautiful and lively palace in Europe. The palace is the permanent workplace of the Royal couple and the royal courtiers and the official residence of His Majesty the King of Sweden. There are receptions at a high state level. The building is a cultural and historical monument. The Royal Palace is open to visitors all year round, which is unique among the active royal palaces of Europe as a whole.

The duration of the tour is 1 hour. If you wish, you can extend the tour for 1 hour and visit the treasury and museum of the Three Crowns Castle. Both of these museums are part of the Royal Palace.
