Tegnerlunden Park

The park is located on the border of Norrmalm and Vasastaden districts.

Description:

Tegnerlunden Park appeared in Stockholm in 1890 and was a small square, but 50 years later Holger Blom, the chief gardener of the city, proposed a large-scale reconstruction of the park. Then there was an artificial stream flowing along the slope of Tegnerlunden.

Walking through the park, you will see two sculptures. The one in the eastern part of the hill depicts the famous Swedish writer August Strindberg, it was installed in 1942, another statue, also representing Stockholm pen master Astrid Lindgren, is located in the northeast side of the park. By the way, it is in Tegnerlunden that Astrid's book "Mio, my Mio" begins: the boy Bosse meets here with a gin, who subsequently sends him to the Desired Land.
