Langholmen Prison
Lå ngholmen Prison, Lå ngholmsmuren 20, Stockholm, Sweden
Description:
The former Langholmen prison is located in the center of Stockholm, on the island of Langholmen. The largest prison in Sweden, which had more than 500 cells, was built in the XIX century. It was here that the last death sentence in Sweden was executed - in 1910, the murderer Alfred Ander was executed here. The prison functioned until 1975.
Then the building was converted into a hotel with 112 rooms with a conference room and hostel. And in the former prison hospital there was a pub and a restaurant. And where there used to be a checkpoint, there is a cafeteria.
You can also visit an interesting museum here. As entertainment, various team games are offered, for example, “Langholmen Prisoners”, during which a team of 25 to 90 people are dressed in prison robes, and then a banquet is held in prison.
