Metro station Kungsträ dgå rden

The Kungsträ dgå rden metro station is named after the royal garden of Stockholm located directly above it. The opening of the station with access to the garden caused a violent protest among the citizens. That is why in the main lobby of the station there is a statue of the Roman god of war Mars.

Kungsträ dgå rden station was built in 1977 at a depth of about thirty-four meters underground. The exterior of the station combines the style of ancient Swedish castles, as well as famous fragments from the myths of ancient Rome.
