Christmas

ChristmasChristmas is the most important church and family holiday, which is widely celebrated throughout Switzerland. On this occasion, they decorate a Christmas tree, prepare a festive dinner in the family circle or with friends, exchange gifts, and in some families they sing Christmas songs and read aloud Christmas Bible stories.

For children, the most important moment of this holiday - along with dinner together and singing Christmas songs - is the long-awaited exchange of gifts. An integral attribute, of course, is a Christmas tree decorated with glass balls and wax candles.

After the celebration in the family circle, in many regions there is a custom of attending Christmas Mass together. On Christmas Eve in church you can meet many people who do not visit it on ordinary days.
