In Suvorov places
Description:
In Suvorov places
In September 1799, Russian troops led by commander Suvorov made a heroic campaign from the canton of Ticino to the center of Switzerland. On this journey you will have to go the same way. From Bellinzona, the road lies in the valley of Leventina with the ancient villages of Biasca, Giornico, Airolo. Then along the serpentine road, overcoming the Saint Gotthard Pass, lying at an altitude of 2108 meters, you will get to Andermatt. Near this place in the gorge Shellenen is the legendary "Devil's Bridge", through which the troops of Suvorov crossed the pass, there is a 12-meter cross carved in a sheer rock with a bronze inscription in Russian. This monument was erected in honor of the Great Commander Suvorov and his army in 1898 by order of Prince Golitsyn.
Further - if you wish, we will go on a sightseeing tour in the "heart of Switzerland" Lucerne.
