Rose garden
Alter Aargauerstalden 31, 3006 Bern, Switzerland
Description:
The fragrant Rose Garden, located in Bern, lies in a wonderful park on a high hill near the Aare River.
The park was built in the twentieth century on the site of an old abandoned cemetery. In the twentieth century, many places in Europe were actively equipped with rose gardens, so the city of Bern is no exception.
In the Bern Rosary roses are planted everywhere and in various forms. There are about 223 species of roses in the park. In addition to roses, 200 species of iris and 28 species of rhododendrons grow in the rosary. Lime trees grow along the alley. In the park you can relax and enjoy the beautiful panorama of Bern in the bend of the Aare River.
In addition to flowering plants, there are historical monuments in the park: the monumental group Europe and Neptune and the bust of Jeremiah Gotthelph.
