Herzensee Castle

Herzensee Castle was located on the Festi hill in the village of the same name, which belonged to the municipality of Bern. It was a medieval castle, built in the XIII century on a hill from where you can see the whole village. Its construction took place in the 1230s and its first owners were the Barons of Kramburg. In 1518 there was a huge fire in the castle, from which the building was destroyed. Herzensee was not to be restored. The owners of the castle built a new estate, which was called the old castle of Herzensee, it was located at the foot of the Festi hill. There are no ruins of the former castle.
