Schlossverein Schwarzenburg, Walter Wenger, Wartgä ssli 10, 3150 Schwarzenburg
Description:
Schwarzenburg Castle (German Schloss Schwarzenburg) is a wonderful castle of the XVI century, located in the canton of Bern. The castle is small, but is an architectural monument of national importance of Switzerland. For 430 years, this castle served as the location of the district administration of the city of Schwarzenberg.
Presumably, Schwarzenberg Castle was founded in the XII century as a fortress designed to protect the boundaries of the city. However, in the middle of the sixteenth century it served as a hunting house for the electorate of Saxony, and later became an office building for statesmen.
Today, the castle is a tourist attraction of Schwarzenberg, as well as a mini-hotel. In the castle you can spend a beautiful wedding, a romantic weekend and just relax from the hustle and bustle. There is a restaurant serving national dishes and rare Swiss wine of excellent quality.
