Bern airport
Description:
Bern Airport is a small Swiss airport serving the capital city of Bern. The airport is located a few kilometers southeast of the city center.
Bern is a modest regional airport, mainly engaged in domestic transportation. Nevertheless, flights to many European countries regularly depart from here - to Spain, the Netherlands, France, England and others. In 2011, about 200,000 passengers passed through Bern.
The airport has two runways, several helipads and one passenger terminal.
Also at the airport of Bern is an old hangar, once owned by one of the pioneers of aviation - Oscar Bieder. This hangar is listed as of national importance and is under the auspices of the Swiss government.
Otherwise, it is an ordinary European airport, modern and convenient, taking care of the comfort of its passengers. From the city center to the terminal can be reached in half an hour either by car or using one of the many bus routes.
