Lake Brienz

Lake Brienz is an incredibly beautiful natural wonder. It is located inside a natural pit, in the rocks that are not far from the town of Brienz. The lake is the most picturesque attraction in Switzerland. The purest emerald water reflects the forests surrounding the reservoir, and in the east the snowy peaks of Hasliberg rise.

In shape, Lake Brienz resembles a giant boa constrictor lying among the rocks. Its length is 14 kilometers, and the widest section is 3 kilometers. This is a favorite place of fishermen, as well as on the lake spend the weekend locals who come here with families on bicycles.

Near the lake are the magnificent Gisbach Falls, the ancient Goldsville Castle, the village of Ringgenberg with an ancient Baroque church. In Brienza, you can eat in cozy restaurants and buy memorable gifts in local souvenir shops.
