You can go on an excursion to the vineyards nearby, or you can stay in the city - the cultural life of Lausanne is full of events, many different festivals and events are held here. Lausanne is a city in which art and culture play a dominant role. The city has many museums, a cinema of Switzerland, several theaters with an ever-changing repertoire of plays. There are performances, opera and ballet productions, concerts, world-famous groups perform.

The healing air, traditionally a high level of medical science in Switzerland, makes Lausanne attractive in terms of anti-stress rest and treatment in private clinics. To avoid being overly influenced by the world’s highest speeds, Michael Schumacher built his home here. The unique capabilities of the resort city have been known since ancient times. And who has not been here on vacation: Mozart, Byron, Shelley, Dickens, Stravinsky, Eliot, Victor Hugo, Ernst Hemingway (who, by the way, settled his literary heroes in one of the local hotels).

Lausanne is the best place to find out how Swiss people love life and why.

Montreux

From any point of the shore you can see the famous Chillon Castle, which protrudes into the lake, sung by Byron. Montreux is one of the most romantic resorts of the Swiss Riviera. For many writers, artists and artists, Montreux was a second home. Among them are Byron, Hugo, Shelly, Nabokov, Charlie Chaplin. Freddie Mercury died here. There are not many castles in the country, but one of the most famous in the world - Chillon - is located here, a couple of kilometers from the city limits. In the XI century, this place was a small fortress, guarding an important trade route leading to Italy through the Saint Bernard Pass. In the middle of the thirteenth century, the castle acquired the appearance that we see now, it rises majestically on a small rocky island, reflected in the water of Lake Geneva. Many artists and writers were inspired by this romantic landscape. George Gordon Byron wrote The Prisoner of Chillon after three days in prison.
