Climbing Pilatus

Description:

Program: Trekking Pilatus Ascension!
Mount Pilatus is the most important alpine landmark in central Switzerland. This home mountain of Lucerne has a very dubious reputation - it was and is the source of terrible hurricanes and floods, a place where dragons and other evil forces lived. Climbing Pilatus until the late 18th century was forbidden under penalty of severe punishment. Legend has it that at the top is the tomb of Pontius Pilate, hence the name of the mountain.

Today, Pilatus is accessible to everyone – this is the most famous observation deck in Switzerland, offering breathtaking views of the lake, almost all of central Switzerland and the Alps. The top can be reached by the steepest geared railway in the world (road angle 48%) from Alpnachstad or in a gondola cable car from Kriens.

But no climb with the help of technology can compare with the conquest of Pilatus on foot! “Everyone is capable of many things, but unfortunately not everyone knows what he is capable of.” This will be the most unforgettable part of your trip to Switzerland. It only takes one day!
