Gruyer

Description:

“The Edge of Milk Rivers and Kisel Coasts” – Gruyer Each farm has its own barns with hundreds of cows and its own cheese production.

Near the city, we will visit a modern cheese factory with an automated cheese storage and observe the process of its production, get acquainted with the exhibits of a small museum of Gruyère cheese.

The smell organ will give you an idea of the scent of milk, depending on what herbs the cows ate.

After the cheese factory, we will climb to a picturesque hill where the town of Gruyère is located.

Since the main development of this town in the XIII century, little has changed here - the illusion of complete immersion in the Middle Ages is created. Moreover, today it is rather a cozy Middle Ages, which gives a certain madness cafe Gigera and the museum of the same name.

Looking into this cafe, you will decide for yourself whether you want to visit the Giger Museum itself - the author of the scenery and characters for the film "Alien", who worked under LSD.

A visit to Gruyère Castle will also not leave you without unusual impressions. Until the middle of the XVI century, counts lived here, then it was used as an administrative building, and from the middle of the XIX century it was bought by a Geneva merchant for his brother, a disabled artist and persuaded his friends of artists to settle in the castle with his brother.

The result of the creative union of these friends-artists is the modern decoration of Gruyère Castle.

To the excursion to Gruyère, you can add the climb to Mount Molezon on a lift,

In the summer, you can ride a "summer sleigh" or (and) on plastic cars and scooters, dragged up the mountain by a bougel lift.

Also, from May to September, you can arrange a visit to a peasant traditional cheese factory, near Mount Molezon (15 minutes from Gruyère).
