Area of the Nations
Description:
Square of Nations is one of the most popular and lively places in Geneva. Its main attractions are the Palace of Nations and the monumental sculpture “Broken Chair”. The square got its name due to the amazing alley, on which the flags of various countries of the world rise. At night, it is illuminated by several dozen decorative lanterns. Also, the square is decorated with magnificent fountains, the jets of which burst directly from the ground through small grilles. Often there are a variety of festive celebrations and perform visiting musicians.
Around the perimeter of the square are small cozy benches, where you can relax in the shade of tall broadleaf trees. The central part of the square is lined with marble and granite slabs. Particular attention of visitors is attracted by a bright flower bed, made in the form of a dial. Near her daily from 10:00 to 14:00 drives a small locomotive, which can be a great entertainment for children.
