Ghost Castle

Zá mok a okolie 1, 97201 Bojnice, Slovakia

Description:

Few people know what is hidden under the facade of the romantic castle in Bojnica. Surprisingly, it was built on the site of an ancient volcano, the center of which was adapted for a well.

Under the roof of the castle are kept numerous collections of works of art. The greatest value of the castle is the collection of paintings by the Italian artist Nard di Cione, as well as its Bojnice altar. It is impossible not to look at the ceiling in the Golden Hall, on which the faces of 183 angels are painted. It is believed that the facial expression of each angel is unique and different.

But the most fascinating thing about this castle is the mysterious story of its last owner, Jan Palffia. It is said that his spirit has not yet left this place. It's worth checking if that's true.
