Moteszycki Palace

Gork ho 210/5, 811 01 Bratislava, Slovakia

Description:

The Moteszycki Palace, located in the Slovak capital, Bratislava, is part of the country’s national cultural monuments. It was built in the 1840s in the neoclassical style by barons Moteszycki and served as a meeting place for representatives of the city nobility. There was a riding club and a casino. In the Middle Ages, in its place was the famous hotel "A divago husband", which stayed noble guests of the city.

The restoration of the palace lasted about seven years and was accompanied by great difficulties, as it is located in the pedestrian part of the city. Under the building, an underground garage was built, vacuum lifts were installed on the third and fourth floors, cooled ceilings were equipped for the preservation of ancient interiors. Since 2010, the restored four-storey building, painted yellow, occupies the hotel. The decoration of the entrance is the glass blooming flowers of the lily, which was created by designer Borek Shipek.
