The New Bridge is a bridge over the Danube River in Bratislava.
This is a one-pilon steel road bridge of fan design. Its length is 430.8 meters. The bridge was built in 1967-1972 by the organizations “Doprastav Bratislava” and “Gutne montage Ostrava”. It was designed by architects Josef Latzko, Ladislav Kushnir, Ivan Slamen, Arpad Tesar and Josef Zwar.
For the construction of the bridge, it was necessary to destroy most of the Bratislava Podgradje, but this construction significantly improved the transport situation of a large residential area of Petrzhalka. The main attraction of the bridge is a restaurant located at an altitude of 85 meters - UFO watch.taste.groove. (formerly "Bystrica") The restaurant is connected to the observation deck.
